Support Center

Please read our guidelines

In an effort to answer all tickets within 24 hours, WDT media has created a new customer support policy, designed to make it easier for our support champs to answer your questions faster and better. Please note this new policy goes into effect October 25, 2011...

  1. Only 1 question or topic per support ticket. If you have issues that are related to each other, please do include them in your initial support ticket. But if you have different questions or topics, you will need to open a support ticket for each topic or question. (Please note, tickets are answered in the order received, so opening multiple tickets for the same questions will only delay your response time.)
  2. No custom work provided. We had to stop offering anything that is beyond explaining how to use the product. Any custom work request will be politely declined and/or referred to third-party developers you might want to work with.
  3. Our support team endeavors to reply to all tickets within 24 hours, except on weekends and holidays. If you haven't received an initial answer within 24 hours, please open your initial ticket and ask what's going on. Our system will automatically elevate the status of your ticket.

Use a widget to place a specific category post at the top of the post area of the Front Page

I have spent the past 2 hours going through videos try to place a specific category post at the top of the post area of the Front Page. I can place it in the header but not at the top of the post on the front page. It just does not show on the website. I used the Custom Content Widget in the Top of Post(Front Page) where I selected only show on Front Page and from my specific category and and asked to display '1' from Display this many. What am I missing? Help!

Hi! It sounds like you've done everything right from your description.
A couple of questions:
Does the widget just not display at all, or do you have a message like "Sorry, there's nothing to display here yet."?
Also, does this category have more than one post in it? You may be running into a tiny bug that will be fixed in the next major release with the custom content widget where if the category only has one post and you choose to show one post, the post will not be returned. But if the category has 2 posts in it, then it will be returned just fine.

Lastly I might recommend as an alternative that you convert that post to page and use the SEO Front Page Article feature instead, as it will place the content in the same place in more of a real content article format, as opposed to a raw text version like the custom content widget returns (because it's usually used for short excerpts and lists of posts).

If you like you can set us up a temporary admin account and we can take a look ourselves. Just tell us exactly what you would like where and we'll test and see if it's achievable. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for your progress and we'll find a solution for you as quickly as possible.
