Are you getting this Fatal Error Message: Call to undefined function get_custom_field() in /home/housepai/public_html/wp-content/plugins/authorityproengine/authorityproengine.php on line XX (line may be different)
Here are instructions directly from Bryan:
1. Activate the Authoritize theme. The plugin and theme are co-dependent. There are some functions
that cross over to one another. If one or the other is not present, you will see an error on you home page.
2. Don't forgot to import the theme options into the AP launcher. The AP launcher plugin allows you to heavily customize
the theme, and gives you more options than a normal theme options panel would allow you. That's why we developed
it. There's just the one extra step of importing your theme options in order to give you this added flexibility. It also allows
us to give you updated theme options without reinstalling everything.
3. Recommended Nxt Steps: First I load one of the AP launcher files up. What it does
is instantly transform your theme into a unique-looking site You can change any options you want now in
the theme options - or you can load up a different launcher file.
For you future reference, below I have written out the installation steps. I think this will be more useful to you than watching
the video each time as I believe it's easier to follow and check off. On another note, we're having a software developed that
will install AP for you as well as do updates for you :)
Here are the written installation steps:
The download package has several zip files inside.
The theme:
- Authoritize.zip
The plugins (2 required AP plugins)
- authorityproengine.zip
- authorityprolauncher.zip
Plugins (3 recommended ones)
- duplicatepost.zip
- tinymceadvanced.zip
- wp-backup.1.8.0.zip
Here are some quick installation instructions:
1. Register your domain to activate the license for this site in your profile (http://authoritypro.com/my-ap
2. Upload the theme (authoritize.zip) - I recommend through ftp, but you can do so through Cpanel or the
WP admin panel. Do not activate it yet.
3. Upload the two required AP plugins (authorityproengine, authorityprolauncher)
4. Activate the theme. There is no need to check your site yet - you need the APEngine plugin activated
before it will be completely functional with no errors.
5. Go to plugins and activate the Authority Pro Launcher plugin (immediately after you will be redirected
to the AP launcher settings screen - you'll need to import the theme options here - It's called a theme
options xml file, there's instructions on that page)
6. Upload the theme options xml file found in AP2b > AP Launchers > theme-options-xml.xml
7. Optionally at this stage you can import one of the pre-made theme options files found in AP2b > AP
Launchers > Theme Launchers > apcleanlaunch. There are several different color version of this one. Just
open one of them and then copy and paste the stuff inside into the box just below the theme options xml
uploader called "Theme Options data". Click "import data".
8. Last step, activate the Authority Pro Engine plugin. At this point you'll see the wp admin panel change
to the ap style and you'll have all the options (squeeze pages, sales, affiliate links, post options, etc)
9. Now you can go check out your site. Everything should be working, but there's a few things you should do
to get it looking right.
One additional step I do recommend is, after installing the theme and plugins, to immediately go to the SEO
settings and set up at least the top 4 settings (target seo keyword, site title, description, keywords).
A few things to watch out for.
1. Make sure when activating the license for your domain you put it in exactly. The best way is just to open your site
to it's homepage and then copy and paste from the url bar.
1, If you get a 404 when trying to view a sales or squeeze page you made - this is because AP adds a new
post slug structure for these posts. Wordpress needs to flush the old permalink structure. Just go visit the
permalinks setting page (just load that page) and WP will do the rest and all will be good (only happens sometimes).
After this process is done, your theme is installed and everything is ready to run.
